Suffolk’s resident
professional orchestra
A message from our patron Sir Roger Norrington
“I am delighted to support the Prometheus Orchestra in their future plans. They work hard to bring music to the public and young people in the Suffolk area. The pandemic and the death of Edmond Fivet, the Founder and Musical Director, have considerably disrupted their programme but I know the Board and Committee are working with enormous enthusiasm to forge future success and to keep music alive and active in Eastern England.
Prometheus Orchestra requires substantial funding annually and I urge you please to give them your support.”
Prometheus Orchestra is a registered charity.
All orchestral funding is made up of donations and where applicable associated Gift Aid.
If you would like to discuss making any donations please send us a message here.
Thank you.
The Orchestra was founded in 2008 in response to the wishes of a number of East Anglian musicians who were keen to perform more of the orchestral repertoire. With financial, musical and administrative support, Prometheus Orchestra was born. The name Prometheus was chosen because the orchestra had recently performed Beethoven’s Overture The Creatures of Prometheus.
